Dome theater & intimate venue.
Hidden in downtown Houston, hosting immersive &
experimental art, sound & science.

About the
Dome
The Dome at Notsuoh is a 20-foot mini-dome theater nestled upstairs in Notsuoh—a legendary downtown Houston social sculpture and nightclub. Architected by visionary, Matthew Dougherty, the space serves as an intimate, otherworldly venue for immersive sound, video, science and performance art.
The Dome has become a vibrant incubator for Houston’s experimental art scene. Under the curatorship of Julia Claire Wallace, local musicians have used the space to record albums; filmmakers have premiered works with live scores; and performance artists, projectionists, and scientists have collaborated to create genre-bending multi-sensory experiences.
Its unique acoustic properties have made it the setting for everything from small experimental shows to acoustic concerts, healing sound baths, and ceremonial performances. The Dome has resonated with the voices of world-famous vocalists and local choirs alike. Artists have treated the space not just as a venue, but as a collaborator—shaping each piece to the Dome’s immersive environment.
The Dome at Notsuoh serves as a nurturing womb for artistic experiments & creativity.
